What
do we do?
S4L, utilising
a grant
from the
Local Network
Fund, has
been delivering
a programme
of sporting
activities
for the
children
and young
people
of the
Ladywood
Ward since
May 2007.
Working
on the
estates
of Chamberlain
Gardens
and North
Summerfield,
S4L is
meeting
needs previously
unmet and
is providing
access
to sport
for those
otherwise
excluded.
Sessions
are designed
to be exciting
and enjoyable,
as well
as educational,
and focus
upon the
fostering
of community
cohesion
and pride.

What
have we
achieved?
Long-sought-after
provision
has finally
been delivered
in priority
estates;
over 60
children
have benefitted
from our
free sessions;
new sports
such as
golf have
been introduced
to the
inner city;
and improved
opportunities
for play
have been
implemented.

What
do our
clients
think?
“the
coaches
are friendly
and its
loads of
fun” Joseph
“its
fun and
it gets
me out
and active” Danny

What
do our
partner
organisations
think?
“The
sports
activities
organised
and run
by Sport4Life
in Chamberlain
Gardens
have been
a breath
of fresh
air in
an area
where there
is very
little
provision...
Sport4Life
have done
a great
job in
providing
an opportunity
for exercise,
fun, social
involvement,
friendship
and learning
through
sport and
I sincerely
hope that
these activities
will continue
and expand
in this
area.”
