What do
we do?
S4L, under
contract
with the
Stockfield
Community
Association,
has been
delivering
a programme
of sporting
activities
for the
children
and young
people
of the
Stockfield
Estate,
Acocks
Green,
since May
2007. Sessions
are designed
to be fresh,
fun and
motivating,
as well
as educational,
and have
included
a whole
range of
professionally
instructed
sports
including
football,
cricket,
badminton
and rock
climbing
to name
but a few.

What
have we
achieved?
A run-down
and un-used
youth pod
has been
renovated
into a
thriving
base for
youth activities
in the
area; over
50 children
have enjoyed
and benefited
from our
free sessions;
and constructive
activity
is replacing
restlessness
in the
estate.

What
do our
clients
think?
“the
best bit
for me is making friends” Raheem
“i
really
like
going
on the
trips” Reanne
“i
enjoyed
trying
new sports
like
cricket” Tayyah

What
do our
partner
organisations
think?
“Sport
4 Life
have made
a positive
start to providing
youth activities in
Stockfield, to the
delight of local young
people who have enjoyed
not only professionally
run and enjoyable weekly
sessions, but also
the involvement of
the Sport 4 Life team
at the annual community
fun day. The staff
have been eager to
help, and have made
a good impression with
local residents.”
Jon
Miles, Project Manager,
Regeneration Department,
Anthony Collins Solicitors
“The
willingness
of the
Sport 4
Life team
to engage
in community
activities
and to
work together
with Stockfield
Community
Association
and other
organisations
in developing
youth activities
is greatly
appreciated
in an area
which has
been lacking
in such
opportunities”
Pat
Sheridan,
Resident
Director,
Stockfield
Community
Association
